iMapper Basics

You’ll have a tripod inside the package, open it, you’ll see that it has 3 legs adjustments for height, 2 configurations on the main tripod body and the head attachment for the iMapper.
Start by opening the necessary legs, ensure that it’s stable and perpendicular to the ground.
Remove the black plate to place the feet of the iMapper on top, then tighten the tripod clamp to make sure iMapper can’t move.
Now level the iMapper using the green bubble level or using the App iMapper Connect App (iPhone & iPad) — iMapper Connect Web App (PC)

Open doors for multi-room scans; keep closed if scanning one room.
Adjust curtains to center window frames. Note the laser may slow on reflective surfaces; for faster scans, lower blinds, close shutters, or cover reflective surfaces with tape or paper.
Analyze the room and adjust the tripod height (typically 1.4m - 2.5m) to avoid windows and most furniture so you can reduce shadow cones
Ensure consistent tripod height across rooms on the same level. If a room requires a higher scan, perform an additional scan (this will enable automated matching on the platform).
Position the tripod in-axis with the door or aligned with openings for adjacent space visibility. You have to ensure that a scan of an iMapper in Room 2 is also touching a portion of Room 1 to enable to automated matching on the platform.

To preview where the laser will take measurements beforehand, you need to ensure iMapper is turned on but inactive (blue LEDs).
After iMapper is turned on click twice quickly to start the scan preview mode.
Do this when you are unsure about shadow cones that might be generated by furniture, obstacles and want to know what data you will capture before starting a scan.

You can also manually STOP the iMapper without breaking it, while it’s rotating and the green LEDs below.

After you do this you can point it in the direction you want to see where the laser will pass.
